Answer #2 - Pescetarian.

I was once a pescetarian for a few years, one of the most intriguing decisions that I’ve made because of work stress. But it’s not the most important life decisions I’ve made. The most important and life-changing decision I made is to retire at the age of 55 – 2012, 31 January.

Retirement also mean no more work stress, and a bit more self-indulgence. With self-indulgence, I went back to eating a little bit of meat. Starting with horse meat and bear meat in Japan, that was my first trip straight after my last day of work Jan 31, 2012, and the next day Feb 1st, we flew off to Japan, where my meat-eating begun again.…Yeeha!

By the way, the only meat I will not eat is Monkey.

Interestingly, during my pescetarian diet period, I had to explain to people what being a “pescetarian” meant, and that such a thing existed. Based on my Google search, pescetarian is a relatively new term according to Merriam-Webster. The term was coined in 1993, the term was likely a combination of the Latin word piscis, meaning fish, and the suffix -arian from the world vegetarian. A pescetarian (or pescatarian) is someone who eats seafood as their only source of meat. They refrain from eating any red meat and poultry, such as beef, pork, and chicken.

If you are keen to become a pescetarian here are a few benefits, as sourced from Google:

  • Pescetarianism may drastically improve your health.
  • Becoming a pescetarian benefits our planet.
  • I believe you aren’t against animal cruelty unless you are some type of vegetarian.
  • We aren’t natural carnivores
  • Many successful individuals choose vegetarian or pescetarian diets.

While you can weigh the pros and cons of a pescetarian diet, but you will agree that eating less meat, in general, is better for health, animals, and the environment.

According to many studies meat consumption in the world has doubled in the last 50 years. And since then, haven’t other problems increased?  If this trend continues for another 50 years, pests and pets will soon be on your dinner table.

Seafood, especially fish, are low in saturated fat and contains very large quantities of polyunsaturated omega-3 fatty acids, which is good for you. By the way, I have been on fish-oil capsules for more than 30 years, I used to take 4 a day. Now, I take 15 capsules daily. Another huge benefit of including fish in a vegetarian diet is the healthy amount of iron in fish and seafood.

If you love seafood, try the curry-flavored BBQ in Kluang, Johor, Malaysia.

I believe that whatever type of lifestyle one leads, it to should benefit the planet.  We need to save more animals.  We need to free birds, not cage them for personal enjoyment.  If you love birds join me and my friends for a nature walk to watch birds in nature, not in cages. We will be going for an Eco-exploration trip around Malaysia. Please click to view

Whatever you do that benefits your health, that benefits the animals or the environment is good. You deserve a pat on your back. Little steps are ok, some take a leap in the beginning, others take gradual steps towards their goal. I believe that as long as we are aware and acting on our good intentions, that’s what matters.  And not forgetting in our workplace, Make Money & Love Safety matter.
