TGIF -Thank God I’m Factotum

Based on my spiritual up-bringing. I believe we are here to SERVE

Yes, we all are somehow a factotum, a servant who is employed to do a wide variety of jobs for someone. To be in a Leadership position, my philosophy is First Serve You. A Quality Leader is a servant leader, who looks to the needs of the people and asks himself how he can helps them to solve problems and promotes personal development.

Let’s us stop for Quality FoodCRAP or CRAB?

After savouring  the Quality food let’s continue with our Quality Journey. We have to be persistence and overcome CRAP to CRAB

Clarify with employees their tasks and goals, and identify better ways in balancing the Quality Journey Bicycle that he/she is on, until we reach the next pit-stop. (Read below – The bicycle riding story below)

Recognize quality performance, outstanding effort and innovative ideas as much as you respond to negative behavior and performance.

Acknowledge safe work practices and address the standards of acceptable safe behavior by sharing how it could negatively impacts on the workplace. If you witness behavior that is inappropriate intervene promptly.

Build an ongoing feedback loop. Don’t focus on Excellence yet.  Take time to have regular dialogues with your employees about the Quality Journey. Get regular feedback, improve the Quality Journey Processes. Help employees to speed up things, recognize their contributions, feel valued and highlight areas for developments.

Riding A Bicycle

Can you remember the first time you tried to ride a bicycle? How awkward it seemed to be attempting to balance on two thin wheels while moving your feet in a circular motion. Being aware of how your feet needed to be connecting with the pedals and getting the right balance to steer the bike in the right direction both at the same time wasn’t easy, was it? Then you tried it a second time, and then a third until eventually, after many bruised knees, you finally mastered the metal beast and began to innovate with new ways of being on a bike – ever done it with no hands?

This is a good example of how we learn. The first time you try something completely new you can feel awkward doing the new thing. To make any progress you have to overcome this initial barrier to learning and practice by making adjustments in accordance with the feedback you are getting. Eventually, you lose the awkwardness and become comfortable doing the new thing. With further practices and more feedback you get to the stage where you can ride your bike with ease and grace without thinking consciously about it. This is the approach you need for the practical exercises in the Quality Journey Workshop which if you engage  FSY to work with  you.  FSY will present to you with many new ways of thinking and being. Practice and you will reap the benefits.

Last Friday I posted the below picture. Now you see it clearly the word is “NO” within the 26 alphabets.

In the book – ‘The Innovation Secrets of Steve Jobs’ Principle #5 – ‘Say NO to 1,000 things.’ Steve Jobs said “I’m proud of what we don’t do as I am of what we do”

FSY say  ”NO” is  New Opportunities…….

The Power of “NO …….to be cont…

The travel bug is back for another bite and I am  ready to get restless.

Hard Gifts are often used to grease the wheels of ‘guanxi’, the Chinese term for relationships that help win jobs and promotions.

Soft Gifts are  feedback, You accept all Feedback unconditionally, Massage it & make Choices and change your behavior according to the results you want.

We block our effectiveness not because we have questions but because we think we have the answers.
