Friday Sharing w/You

Friday, November 23

My last leg of my 2012 vacation resuming on Thanksgiving day(Nov 22, 2012) at Houston with my buddy, Steve Ward.

Actually…my 2012 holidays officially started in the month of February, bringing me to Japan, Korea, Taiwan with Johor & Malacca in between. Then back to Japan again in October, East & West coasts of US and Canada. The finale leg of our vacation for 2012 is traveling in Europe starting from France. What I am looking forward to is visiting some of my old buddies in Texas, Houston.
Today Nov 23 is Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving day.
Black Friday is the name given to the day following Thanksgiving Day in the United States, traditionally the beginning of the Christmas shopping season. On this day, most major retailers open extremely early, often at 4 am, or earlier with promotional sales offer to kick off the holiday shopping seasons.

Employee success come first and it doesn’t just happen.

Many people talk about customer satisfaction, customer success or customers must come first. The string never ends. Everyone have your own point of view and perception whether customers should come first or second or making them successful. It all added up to the stress level that you are imposing onto your employee.  My philosophy is customer is not King or Queen, nor are they right or wrong, they are just important to us, period.

I would prefer management to focus on their employee success because they are the backbone to sustain the business and making more money for the organization. We should develop successful employee. Employee Success really does matter. After discussing with friends from the old-school thinking on this topic. I thought I might share some more thoughts with you.

All organization dream of having successful employees, and, with the right approach and Quality tools, this can be a reality if you join me in the Quality Journey.

Successful employees offer you a strong competitive advantage and will also bring you more business through their quality of work.  But employee success does not just happen – you need to be hitting the right spot with your employees.  In fact, if you want employees to be successful, you need to start planning before you employ them.

A successful employee is one who comes to work in the morning without dragging themselves and there is no need for an alarm clock. They will never complain about their work and they will accept feedback for their unsatisfactory performances.  While employee happiness is important, aiming for employee successful is no longer enough.  You need to create and build Fun, successful & Younique employee to sustain your business.

In summary you want

  • Employee who are less likely to react to competitor offering, the grass is greener in my house.
  • Employee who will give you 100%
  • Employee who will prefer to achieve Quality Work; Quality Life, rather than work-life balance.

It’s only normal that most employees like to feel recognized and rewarded for their contribution. One of the simplest, but most effective ways, to build and recognize employee is to implement an employee successful program.  Employees also want to be respected.  It’s vital to respect employees and demonstrate  that you care for them and build trustworthy relationship,

Developing trust with your employees is one of the single most important aspects of running your organization. If employees trust your management, it becomes much easier to build a Fun, Successful & Younique organization.  Of course the opposite is true – if you do something that destroys that trust, they will break your customer.

You can earn employee trust by providing rewarding system that delight them. Going the extra mile if necessary to help them and their family. Even if it costs you extra money create a co-funding saving scheme for the family future.  Create many dialogue sessions to actively listens.  Don’t down play employees’ concerns, listen and act on employee feedback.  Keep in touch with your older employees and turn new one into successful employees!

Consider conducting regular employees survey on their works & needs.  It will provide valuable insight and may even enable you to alter your reward and retention system  to better align with their needs. A good example is have a flexible medical system allowing employee to have their own choice of treatment whether is Western, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) or others.

Remember to share your business strategy with your team and ensure they understand your goals, make sure their goal also align with your and the methods for building employee successful. As you don’t want them inadvertently go to your competitor and I came across employee joining your customer.

So keep in mind employee come first not customer… a Fun, Successful & Younique employees is what you want to achieve and they form your best business strategy.

When you put employee first and empower the powerless, they dance spontaneously. Employees @ M&M Store in Time Square New York dancing spontaneously.  A Fun, Successful & Younique  working environment is achievable.
