Friday Sharing w/You

Friday, November 2

We left October behind and enter into November.

Don’t blame yourself if little progress is being made in the last 10 months. Sometimes, achieving nothing or being little dysfunction in life is okay but you must be ready to endure the shock waves just like the Hurricane Sandy that just hit the New York. Thank God I am in the West coast of USA. Anyway, after the Hurricane Sandy sunshine will come and shopping will start again.

I left Tokyo, Japan to Los Angeles, USA. Embarking into my 2nd leg of vacation. We landed on Los Angeles, USA. We did the kiddies’ stuff at Disneyland, Disney California Adventure & University Studio. If you intend to visit Universal Studio Hollywood, do spend a bit more to purchase the VIP ticket. You will get a totally different experience that we never expected.

After doing all these kiddies’ stuff, we went to another amusement park that few people heard of that is the fear factor rides in Knotts Berry Farm. It was named Knotts Berry Farm because originally the site used to owned by a farmer as farm land. The owner, Walter Knotts had a dream just like Walt Disney of Disneyland who also started his dream by transferring the land into a leisure amusement park where all the high double loops, twisted roller coasters. At Knotts Berry Farm, I crazily done something daring that even I myself never think that I could do it at the age of 55 (almost 56). That is riding on these roller coasters, not just one ride for the thrill but 6 different rides for more than 20 times in less than 5 hours. Most baby boomer missed this opportunity in their younger time because we do not have such fun with twisting and double loops roller coasters. I told myself if I don’t do it now,

I will never get the chance to feel what my children feelings when they are on these rides. To be daring is all in the mind and making a new beginning. To rewrite our own rules, change path and reinvent ourselves.

Feedback, Manage & Choices

Last 2 Fridays we covered Feedback and Manage. Today we look at Choices.

We make many choices throughout the course of the day. How we choose and what we choose narrows down our options. Going to pick a friend at Chua Chu Kang road, I can choose from a number of expressways. If I choose SLE and mid-way through, I heard a report of bad weather and an accident at KJE then it’s too bad – as I’m already in the middle of the jam. Behavioral choice is much like this and the consequences of choosing inappropriately must be accepted and lived with.

There is also a choice over how you exercise choice. Have you ever got on the wrong bus or driven to the wrong destination out of habits? This often happens when you make the same journey regularly but for once you need to go somewhere different whilst you are pre-occupied in thinking about something else, your brain somehow automatically channel you to your regular route. Thus, you choose the wrong bus or expressway exit.

You can allow your habits to make automatic choices for you, or you can put some higher quality conscious thought behind them. Sometimes in business, seemingly small choices about what you say at an interview or a negotiation can have major consequences on you, the business and its employees.

We all have issues. We all are half-crazy. Somehow we are also dysfunctions Embracing  these 3 simple steps Feedback, Managing & Choice model in your Quality Journey. The concept behind the model is simple… You do something and someone give you Feedback, you Massage/Manage the feedback, make Choices and change your behavior accordingly to the results you wanted.

Life is not about big fish eat small fish or big fish that swims in small pond or small fish that swims in the ocean. Big or small fishes they all are still fish.

The late Stephen R.Covey 7 habits principle stated “Begin with the end in mind” The now FSYQualipreneur added onto this principle “Begin with the Beginning after the end is the mind.”

97% of people buying decisions are made on an emotional basis then later justified by logic. Because emotion stimulates the mind up to 3,000 times faster than rational thought processes.
