What will I do after the Learning Session.

What if others don’t see us as we see ourselves?

Is that our fault? Are we even aware of it?

I have always had a certain understanding of myself, who I think I am deep down but, that “me” have not always come across to others as I would wish.

I have brunch with my 2nd daughter, Clarissa and her boyfriend. We agreed to have one every month and this is our first. We talk a bit on personality and why others always come across that I am not what I said I am. We are all highly complex Humans. However, I would like to share one aspect of my personality to explain something that I have understood over the last 30 years.

I have always been a little insecure and to deal with this insecurity, I have learned to tell myself “How well I am doing, I must always be better.” Mostly, this is a little cheerleading inside my head but during my earlier career as a blue collar worker, the stress were such that I started to have this mindset supporting mechanism. This attitude made my colleagues think that I was boastful and arrogant. For nearly three decades, I didn’t realize why they even ever have this perception of me! I was being blinded by my own self-defense mechanism. Inside me, I was thinking “FSY, you’re shit” but externally I was saying to people “Hey, look at that, I jumped from Blue Collar to White Collar!” I wasn’t thinking about my impact on others (another one of my faults), and creating the impression that I was some self-loving human while actually the reverse was true.

Then I grew older a little. I decided that I wanted to be the sort of person who is honest about his feelings. I wanted people to know where they stand with me without having to play the guessing game. I stopped saying things for my own benefits and started reaching out to others with my words by letting them convey who I am rather than who I wanted to be. I started truly “being myself” at the age of 56 and this is the start of my new life journey to my current Qualipreneur career. So, for all those people out there who are playing a “role” in the office or at home – stop living your lives as an illusion. It took me 30 years and it certainly isn’t easy. But think about this, are you really happy with people seeing the way you see yourself or to see you the way they wanted? We are all actors/actresses on Stages!

LOVE 24/7

Someone said we have 2 choices everyday LOVE or FEAR, I chose LOVE. If you are holding my 3rd workshop book, I have used the word “LOVE” to talk about Leadership on page 14 – “Leaders Stay in LOVE”.

When you tell your friends and family (and/or me – thank you) that you love us – do you take the extra few seconds to become mindful?

Do you ever take a moment to stop and let that really sink in? LOVE.
