Today Sharing:

Are you intelligent?

I not only spend time having coffee with old and new friends, I occasionally spend time with children.

Last weekend after mountain climbing at Gunung Lambak at Kluang, Johor, I spent some time with 2 kids. We read and played with words on a chalkboard.  Interestingly, one of the boys said if Uncle Daniel can spell the alphabet A, B, C to Z backward, Uncle Daniel is smart

Wow!  Wow!  Wow!

Since I don’t like to use the word Smart…

I told the boy uncle Daniel don’t want to be a smart-aleck old man, rather, uncle would prefer to be an intelligent old man, if he would just give me a few minutes.

Never one to look “Bodoh” or “Sotong” in front of a small boy, I give him an equally challenging question also on the 26 letters

I told him since you always play with your so-called “smart” phone, can you spell out the 3 rows of letters on the keyboard?

After 5 minutes, the boy count in 3,2,1 go

I did it both, can you?

So I am a bit of an intelligent 60-year-old man in front of the kids….Yeeha

There is a simple trick that I always apply when comes to memorising things that I ‘want’ to remember.  I can share with you this simple trick over a cup of free coffee. The good thing about reaching 60 is that I wouldn’t be able to remember many things as I do have short term memory.  This helps because most of the times I don’t want to remember things, Yes! I seem to be a messy person, but I always declutter my brain.(be emptiness or be mindfulness) In the messiness of things I can find things in the bling of my eyes. That’s  the awesomeness of being a lefty.  Otherwise, I wouldn’t be able to remember as I do have short term memory.

Thank Buddha, despite my short term memory loss, I’m able to remember 3 ladies name – I tend to forget ladies name – sorry,  I forget your name after you’ve introduced yourself… Yeeha can you repeat!!!

By the way, there are 27 alphabets instead of 26 in our English vocabulary.

The letter that we use very often, yet we don’t realise it is a letter by itself.  You don’t need to guess the 27th alphabet. Like my son says, “Google lor.”

My FSY’s sharing is unscientifically and some are contributed by wife & children, friends, acquaintances. I write and share things that matter to me. I understand that everyone have their own opinions, views, & thoughts. There are no right or wrong answers. Nothing is true or untrue, most facts and data can be twisted to your favour.

To the authors, contributors and original sources, my thanks and where appropriate my apologies if I forget to quote your names.  If I took a page from your generous sharing and tweaked it into something else, something I hope will spread and the whole purpose is for sharing and sharing is caring.
