Hello Friends & PengYiu,

Quick Quotable

Why Blah, Blah, Blah?

Because thing don’t stay like it forever, they were get worse! It will happen if we keep buying things and throw away. It is going to be so bad as to be unimaginable maybe 100 years from now it is not rosy but blah, blah, blah, that’s life

Quick Question

Why Diamond are clear and coal are black and you mix them up you got diamond?

When Superman wants to super impress Lois Lane, he takes a lump of coal and squeezes it in his super fist until it becomes a diamond.

Today Sharing:

Challenge Your Assumptions

During one of my business trip cum holiday in New York,  I saw a homeless guy sleeping near the doorway of a Burger King restaurant. I placed one banana beside him (Bananas is quite expensive in the US that why I gave him one) and I go back into Burger King to continue my breakfast.

The homeless guy woke up, put his things together and gathered the few coins that were dropped into his coffee cup by passers-by. He dropped the banana that I left for him in a nearby waste bin and headed forward to nowhere.

I made an assumption about how best to help. But despite my good intentions his worldviews and mine didn’t align.

This misalignment between me, (giver) and the homeless (receiver) occurs all too often in our life.  It happens when our understanding of the people needs or wants falls short because we are more focused on our own  assumption and the norm of the worldviews.

We can challenge our assumptions about people needs or wants by LOVE – (L) Listening, (O) Observing, (V) Verbalizing, and (E) Engaging fact on the ground

So, will you challenge your assumption or follow  the world views?

With gratitude

Until Next Friday… Be Joyful

My FSY’s sharing is unscientifically and some are contributed by wife & children, friends, acquaintances. I write and share things that matter to me. I understand that everyone have their own opinions, views, & thoughts. There are no right or wrong answers. Nothing is true or untrue, most facts and data can be twisted to your favour.

To the authors, contributors and original sources, my thanks and where appropriate my apologies if I forget to quote your names.  If I took a page from your generous sharing and tweaked it into something else, something I hope will spread and the whole purpose is for sharing and sharing is caring.
