Eunoia 20165S Good Housekeeping 2016

Hello, Twenty-16 Friends
Wow, it’s Twenty-16 !, A New Year, A New Day, A New Friday. I hope your last week of 2015 is a happy one, with lots of time for (F)un, (S)urreal and (Y)uletide.
Quick Quotable
The ABCD of Twenty-16 (2016)- New Year is not about changing the dates but about (A)wareness; it’s not about changing the calendar but the (B)eginning of The Unexpected Quality Journey (aka TQM) It’s not about the dos and the don’ts but (C)ommitment; it’s not about just taking actions but (D)irection.
Have a (F)ulfilling (S)miling & (Y)ounique renewed twenty-16.
Today Sharing:
Awareness, Commitment & Direction 2016
AWARENESS
Since it is the first day of the twenty-16 we also start with the first letter of the alphabet “A” and we should always question our Awareness.
Are you Aware of the cleanliness around you?
Do you notice the grimy surrounding in your communities and workplaces?
Are you working in a workplace without understanding the 5S-Good Housekeeping practices?
Are you one of the litterbugs that keep your house clean but litter or dirty the communities and your workplaces. Are you one of the holidaymakers who go Malacca and litter?
COMMITMENT
We skipped the letter “B” for Beginning… and to “C
Today I am committed to looking into communities and workplaces to keep it fresh & clean.
I should smell the freshness of my communities and workplaces and help keep it clean.
I am committed to (F)reshen my workplace, make it (S)afer and (Y)earning forward for a fresh and clean Tweenty-16.
DIRECTION
Now, “D” it’s not about just taking actions but Direction.
Taking actions is good but you need a direction. A good practices of taking action to keep the communities and workplaces fresh and clean with a direction of CLEANLINESS THROUGH 5S-GOOD HOUSEKEEPING“A place for everything & everything in its place”
I copied shamelessly and tweaked these 5 abbreviated from the Japanese words Seiri, Seito, Seiso, Seiketsu, & Shitsuke. I changed to these 5 English words. Sort, Systemize, Sweep, Sustain & Self-Discipline. While I was teaching 5S-Good Housekeeping System in Malaysia, one participant shared his version of 5S in Bahasa Melayu – Saya Suka Sekali Simpan Sampah (literally translate I really like you keep rubbish)
I think the correct 5Sin Bahasa Melayu are: Sisih, Susun, Sapu, Seragum & Sentiasaamal
The 5S-Good Housekeeping is not just a methodology, it is a country culture that should be taught in pre-school and primary school or even the secondary school and built-in a culture of cleanliness to aims for a better, safe, spontaneous and continuous improvement environment. It involves everyone in the country and organization. it is difficult teaching adult or the Millennials because of the mindset or mind-settled.
The 5S-Good Housekeeping system guarantees you a fresh, clean and safe lasting workplace. And if you added another 5Ys (5 Whys) into your 5S-Good Housekeeping system you have an organization culture of quality and safety certainty. The beginning of The Unexpected Quality Journey (aka TQM) starts with a place for everything & everything in its place, and you are ready to start your twenty-16 (2016) journey and when you are not ready start asking 5Ys.
With 5S-Good Housekeeping in place, you would have been able to see the little problems and not wait until it becomes big or even fatal. Contacts me for a complimentary 5S-Good Housekeeping or other trainings sharing sessions at daniel@qualipreneur.com
Occasionally it is okay to be a bit fuddy-duddy, messy and a bit crazy as long is (F)resh, (S)afe and (Y)ounqiuely clean.
