Quick Question

A bit, a bit you build a mountain -True or False ?

Today Sharing:

When a company outsources what they have in mind is operation cost reduction. Cheap outsourcing is becoming the norm in Singapore, which forces the lower bidders to win contracts. The consequence of this? The company makes money but doesn’t love safety.

The mindset that companies exist to be profitable is correct, but it does not capture the whole picture.

(F)irst, competitiveness and profitability are good but you must be able to ½ X 2 = 3.  The formula behind this is to make money and love safety.

(S)econd, ask why you want/or need to outsource? It’s to see a transformation inside the company. At the end of the day, the organization core competency becomes better than the best.

(Y)ouniquely, you end the practice of awarding business on the basis of price tag. Instead, minimize total cost. Google to learn more about W. Edwards Deming 14 principles.  He offered 14 key principles for managements to follow for significantly improving the effectiveness of a business or organization.

(D)on’t get me wrong, outsourcing has its benefits when it comes to teaching and transformation. The company should focus on their core competencies, and outsource the training and teaching parts which allow the company to tap into a wider knowledge base that FSY bring along.

Until Next Friday… Be Braved

With gratitude

My FSY’s sharing is unscientifically and some are contributed by wife & children, friends, acquaintances. I write and share things that matter to me. I understand that everyone have their own opinions, views, & thoughts. There are no right or wrong answers. Nothing is true or untrue, most facts and data can be twisted to your favour.

To the authors, contributors and original sources, my thanks and where appropriate my apologies if I forget to quote your names.  If I took a page from your generous sharing and tweaked it into something else, something I hope will spread and the whole purpose is for sharing and sharing is caring.
